Vincent Dees Obituary
He was born April 18, 1963, in Manila, Philippines, to the late Horace "Jim" Dees and Pilar (nee Milinao) Dees.
Vincent worked as an OR Technician at Barnes Jewish Hospital and was also employed by Novacich Meat Market as a meat processor. He had a deep love for surfing, music, and playing the drums. An avid outdoorsman, Vincent especially enjoyed kayaking, fishing, grilling, and exploring great food. He had a special appreciation for Hawaiian culture, including plate lunches while surfing in Hawaii, and took pride in creating Hawaiian jewelry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Dees; and his paternal grandparents, Horace A. Dees and Mary Magdelan Moorefield Dees.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly (Michael Jr.) Averill; his best friend, Jana L. Dees; his sister, Lorie Dees; his nieces, Julie Kure and Rachel Bohlen; and numerous great-nieces.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice and will be received at the visitation or may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
