Vincent Paul 'Vinny' DiTaranto age 67 of Brewster, NY, died Wednesday, August 3,
2022 in Valhalla, NY. Vinny was Born in Bronx, NY on December 3, 1954, son of Vincent and Frances (DiMiceli) DiTaranto. Vinny graduated from Dodge Vocational High School in Bronx, NY. On October 9, 1977, Vinny married the love of his life, Karen McAuliffe at St. Frances of Rome RC Church in Bronx, NY. Vinny had been a letter carrier with the US Postal Service for 27 years, working out of Somers, NY. After living in the Bronx for close to 35 years, Vinny moved his family to Brewster, NY where they've lived for the past 32 years. Vinny enjoyed many different things in life. He was passionate about his coffee, pizza and his picnic basket of candy. He loved the outdoors enjoying its beauty. Vinny couldn't get enough of it. Whether at the beach, working the job as a letter carrier, a member of the Somers Men's Softball team or a Bar-B-Q with the family. Vinny was a handyman around the house, an avid Giants fan and he enjoyed a good book on his Kindle. Vinny was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. To know Vinny was to love him. He was a laidback man always willing to lend a helping hand. He was quick with a smile and a kind word. People felt instantly at ease in his presence. To meet him once was like you knew him for a lifetime. Besides his wife Karen of 44 years, Vinny is survived by his 3 children; his son and daughter-in-law Vincent W. and Angela DiTaranto of Brewster, NY; his son Michael P. DiTaranto of Yorktown, NY and his daughter Lauren M. DiTaranto of Brewster, NY; his grandson Lucas Vincent DiTaranto; his brother Deacon John DiTaranto and his wife Maureen of Sheton, CT and his brother Mark DiTaranto and his wife Emily of Rowayton, CT. Also several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster, NY. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in Brewster, NY. Friends may call on Monday August 8th from 4 to 8pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster. beecherfuneralhome.com
