Vincent E. Finck, 56, of Zanesville, died February 15, 2026, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He leaves behind a legacy of service, hard work and devotion to family. He was born September 14, 1969, a son of the late Larry and Alice (Shipman) Finck. A proud member of Eagles Lodge #302, Vincent spent his career as a truck driver where he made many long lasting friendships. He dedicated 18 years volunteering as a firefighter in South Zanesville. Above all, family was everything to him, and those who loved him will always remember his familiar way of beginning the lengthiest of stories with the words, “long story short.”
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen N. (Axline) Finck, who he married October 19, 1996; children Amanda (Cameron) Chapman, Nichelle Shuck, Vincent Jr (Kinsey) Finck, and Danielle (Tyler) Lasure; grandchildren Colt, Kennedy, Odin, Iris, Lincoln and Lilly; sister Connie (John) Basher; uncle Martin Finck; and many nieces, nephews, and others including fur babies Lucy and Ethel.
In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence “Shorty” Finck; and an aunt Ruth Finck.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Genesis Hospice Morrison House and The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital for the great care given to Vincent throughout his diagnosis, especially Dr. Husain and Dr. Alexander. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or online at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
