Vincent Igoe Obituary

Igoe, Vincent
PRATTSVILLE - Vincent P. Igoe Sr. of Prattsville, N.Y., passed away on February 18, 2026, at the age of 76. Born and raised in the City of Albany, N.Y., Vince lived a life defined by service, dedication, and deep love for his family. He was especially proud of his more than 20-year career with the Albany Police Department. He served in many units including traffic safety, the motor unit and he thrived as a midnight accident investigator. He was well known for helping create the APD dive team. He also worked in ASB, and was pivotal in getting APD accredited. His commitment to protecting and serving others extended beyond his professional career through his volunteer work with the Prattsville Fire Department.
Vince was a man of strong character, funny, generous, and stubborn in the most endearing way, with an unmistakable Irish charm. He believed in doing things the right way, often reminding those around him, "Take a job big or small, do it right or not at all." He carried that principle into every aspect of his life. He found great joy in traveling and in sharing old photographs, reliving memories and telling stories that connected generations. Above all, Vincent treasured his family and was immensely proud of his sons.
He is survived by his sons, Vincent P. Igoe Jr. (Danielle) and Brian Igoe; his beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Mia, Madelyn, Molly, Isabella, Maverick, and Mattis Igoe; and his great-granddaughter, Soleia Igoe. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Donna Virola; and his sister-in-law, Deborah Igoe.
He was predeceased by his son, Matthew Igoe; his brother, William Igoe; his sister, Madeline; and his parents, Vincent and Virginia Igoe.
Vincent's legacy of strength, service, humor, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. A private interment service will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. To leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com

Shared lots of good times at 526 Central with Vinny while he worked midnights. Tex, Beansy Barringer, George Maloney and others were there too. Did stuff with him at ASB after he made Sgt and moved to Morton Ave. He was a good friend.
