Vincent Mancuso Obituary

Vincent W. Mancuso, Sr., 95, passed away at his home in St. Petersburg on December 10, 2011. Vincent was born to Antonio and Antonietta Mancuso In Feroleto Antico, Calabria, Italy on May 24, 1916. He immigrated to the United Stated at 18 year of age where he worked and continued his education, graduating from Duquesne University in Pittsburg, Pa. with a teaching degree. He enlisted in the service of our country during World War II. In 1944, He married Florence Jardini who was to become his lifelong partner for over 61 years. Vincent and family moved to Florida in 1952, attended the University of Florida where he attained a Master's degree in education. He was with the Pinellas County school system for 35 years and retired from Seminole High School as a cherished guidance counselor in 1987. Over the years Vincent became an ardent Buccaneer, and Rays fan, often wearing their logoed caps about town. He is survived by his son, Vincent W. (Carolyn) Mancuso, Jr. D.D.S. of Des Moines, IA., his daughter Rinnie (Kenneth) Bohling of Largo, Fl. A sister Delfina DeCiantis of Pittsburgh, PA., Grandchildren Vincent, III, Elmhurst, IL. Teri Smith, Wilmington, N.C., Jack Bohling, Tampa, FL., and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Mancuso, Elmhurst IL. He was preceeded in his death by his wife, Florence, His two brothers, Carl and Frank, and three sisters, Severia Palmieri, Adelina Palmieri and Dalia Ciardi. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to O.T.H.E.R.S., 4661 80th Avenue No., Pinellas Park, FL. 34606

Mr. Mancuso was Assistant Principal at Tyrone Junior High. He was instrumental in my growth in school and focusing on the goods things in life. So long since his passing....he was a good man and will always be remembered.
