Vincent Paul Riccomini, known affectionately as Uncle Vince, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in St. Mary's on July 11th, 2024 after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was born on October 7th, 1953, in Bakersfield. Vince's life was a tapestry of hard work, dedication, and unwavering love of his family.

During his time living in Italy, Vince honed his skills in Italian bread making while working in a bakery. His passion for craftsmanship extended to his career in the construction industry, where he worked for various companies before finding his true calling at Drippe Homes as the Cabinet Ordering Director. Vince poured his heart and soul into designing cabinets for over 800 new homes, finding great joy and fulfillment in his work. During his final days you would still see him at his computer working on projects.

Vince's favorite memories often involved spending time with his loved ones - be it on unsuccessful fishing trips, preparing meals together, or celebrating the news of a new grandchild on the way. He was very much an accomplished home cook who relished family dinner nights, spending hours around the kitchen table enjoying a home cooked meal, a glass of vino and the company of his family and friends.  He had a delightful demeanor and sense of humor that was enjoyed by those who knew him.

Described as a man of few words but great wisdom, Vince was known for his attentive listening ear and gentle demeanor. Despite enduring significant losses in his life, including the sudden passings of his father, wife, daughter, and brother, Vince faced each challenge with stoicism and unwavering faith. His resilience and selflessness shone through as he dedicated himself to raising his three children and imparting upon them the values of his Catholic faith and love.

In addition to his professional accomplishments and personal virtues, Vince found joy in working on various projects that allowed him to showcase his carpentry skills. From designing kennels for family businesses to building chicken coops and fences as well as furniture for himself and his loved ones, Vince's knack for craftsmanship was unmatched.

Vince leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will be forever cherished by those who survive him. He preceded in death by  his beloved wife Frances, daughter Gina, father Alfredo, mother Albertina, and brother Robert. He is survived by his children Vincent Paul II and Joseph; daughters-in-law Ann Marie and Christienne; grandchildren Zachary, Emma, Alexis, Vinny, Tony, Xavier, Isaac, Dante, Gianna, Lucca, Nicco, Cristiano, Giorgio ,and Marcellino; brother Frank; best friend Terry Carver; sisters and brothers in law, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as cousins both in California and Italy.

A visitation (2-4pm) will be held at Piper Funeral Home followed by the Rosary at Immaculata Catholic Church (5:20 pm) on Wednesday, July 17th. A funeral Mass will be offered at Immaculata Catholic Church on Thursday, July 18th at 11:00 am followed by burial at Our Lady Of Peace Cemetery in St Mary's.
