Vincent Somma

Vincent "Jimmy" Somma, of New Haven died August 12, 2012 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is the brother of Ann Amodio, Terri Kycia and the late Carmel Iovene and Louis Somma. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews. Jimmy was born in New Haven May 10, 1926 to the late Pasquale and Anna Avitable Somma. He served in the US Navy and then began a career as a cutter at Saxony Coat Co. and then at the May Coat Co. He later worked as a building inspector for the City of New Haven prior to retiring. He was a member of the St. Andrew the Apostle Society. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday morning at 10 in St. Michael's Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame High School 24 Ricardo St. West Haven, CT 06516 or Special Olympics 1133 19th Street NW Washington, DC 20036.
