Dearest Vinnie, Thank you so much for who you are in the Lord. The connection that God put in place between you and me; so many times humbled my heart. You loved the Lord, and it showed in your faithfulness. Thank you for loving as Jesus loved, understanding as Jesus did. I will always remember you and be thankful to our Lord for the times we shared.

I was trying to say that we met Vinnie to our mutual friends the Mennonite missionaries. We enjoyed many Christian services together.Vinnie use to joke with my elderly mother a lot.He talked to her in english and italian and my mother laugh a lot .She only speak spanish.
We enjoyed those days and remember him, always. He was one in a million. It was a great blessing for us to meet him.We remember his courage and wisdom.

My beloved Mother passed away Oct 3, 2001 from Pulmonary Fibrosis at the age of 50. Tonight (16 years after her death) I discovered a slip of paper tucked into a shoe box of prayers & notes. In her handwriting it reads: posted by Vincent Spainilo May 29,1997 46 years old. So I googled him and was touched by such an obituary. God bless everyone.

My condolences are late in coming. I serve as a very part-time pastor in Enfield, and I just learned today at the ecumenical Good Friday service of Vinnie's death. When I joined the Enfield Conference of Christian Churches, Vinnie's was the warmest welcome. He attended our worship on occasion (Enfield American Baptist Church) and even came to a pot luck birthday party I held one winter evening. He was gracious and loving--always with a smile. I was looking forward to seeing him today, then saddened to learn of his death. I'm confident that the promise of resurrection means Vinnie was and is still with us, in ways we cannot understand or even always feel. My prayers are with you as you remember him this Easter.

Deb and family I am so sorry for your loss. Vinnie will live forever now and will meet us when it is our time to go. Vinnie was a great inspiration to me and a great friend. If not for him I don't think my transplant would not have been a success. I will miss him greatly. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for service but I was in transit to my new home in Arkansas. once settled I will send a card. God Bless.

Vinnie will always have a place in my heart where life long friends reside. My fondest memories reach back to high school. He never seemed to take note of his popularity and he was always, just my friend. Through the years, we kept in touch, and I can tell you that his life revolved around his family and the Lord. He was so grateful for Deb, who he referred to as his angel. He was so proud of his much loved children and grandchildren. He loved the Lord and was a good servant. I know that he is with our Lord, basking in his love and light. I will miss you, my friend.
Rest in peace.

To Debbie and the Entire Spanilo family, Vinny will be sorely missed and remembered always. I am extremely grateful for the time Vinny took to mentor me and show me how to be a good and honest person, and leader. He was the first member of the CTANG that I met and I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of the section he was in. I refer back to things he showed me almost everyday, and I find myself asking what would Vinny do. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family, God Bless You

Debbie & Family, Vinnie & I go back many years in the CTANG. But most of my memories of Vinnie will be our times we spent together with Fred Press for weekly Bible Study during lunch hour at my office. I have no doubt that Vinnie's arrival before our Lord and Savior was met with the Lord greeting him with the words "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant".
