ALBANY - Vincent A. Tomeo, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Born in Taylor, Pa., he was the son of the late Antoinette and Joseph Tomeo. Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Malone Tomeo.
Vincent graduated from East Stroudsburg University and later received his Master of Social Work from Syracuse University. Vincent worked for the N.Y.S. Social Services Department and the N.Y.S. Division for Youth as an aftercare worker and supervisor, and administrator for 32 years before his retirement in 1989.
Upon retirement, Vincent took on many projects outside his field including constructing a summer home on Bobs Lake in Canada. Vincent enjoyed his summers in Canada at the lake home and playing golf as an active member of the Rideau Lakes Golf Club in Westport, Ont. In the winter months, Florida was his escape from the New York cold weather. Vincent was at home wherever he was staying.
In addition to his wife, Vincent is survived by his son, Peter V. Tomeo. He is also survived by his siblings, Joanne MacConnell (Jerry), Joseph Tomeo (Cheryl) and Anthony Tomeo. He was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin Tomeo. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
