Vincent J. Vitale, a cherished figure and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 27, 1938, in Queens, New York, Vincent led a life marked by kindness, care, and a deep commitment to his family and community.
For many years, Vincent served as the Vice President of maintenance for Pan Am Airlines, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and peers. His career was characterized by a strong work ethic and a passion for the aviation industry, which has left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Vincent is survived by his daughter, Dona Lagattuta, and her husband Carmine; his son, Vincent P. Vitale, and his wife Irene; and his beloved daughter, Sandra Archbold. He was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to two great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Vincent is predeceased by his wife Carmela Vitale and his son-in-law Kevin Archbold.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Vincent’s life at Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. Visitation will be held on September 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass will be offered in his honor at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, located at 125 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park, NY 11729, on September 6, 2025, at 10:15 AM.
Vincent's legacy of loving kindness and warmth will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought to so many lives.
