Vineese Melton Albert was born on March 21, 1936, in Lessie, Florida, to Joseph and Marie Melton. She was the eldest child of their union. From an early age, Vineese displayed multiple talents, most notably her gift as a renowned seamstress and her deep passion for caregiving.
She was educated in the Nassau County Public School System and went on to pursue higher learning, completing two years of study at Florida Memorial College in St. Augustine, Florida. Vineese worked faithfully for many years and later retired from both Terminal Bag and Paper Company in Yulee, Florida, and from the Nassau County Sherriffs Department as a School Crossing Guard.
Vineese accepted Christ at a young age at Mount Horeb Baptist Church in Lessie, Florida. In later years, she united with her husband at Prince Chapel AME Church. Following her husbands passing, she joined and faithfully served at First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her beloved pastor, Dr. Reverend Darien K. Bolden Sr., whom she cherished greatly.
Late Thursday afternoon, September 25, 2025, the Lord called Vineese to her eternal home, where she now rests in His everlasting peace.
Those left to cherish her beautiful memories include her loving and devoted daughter, Annette Roberts; beloved and admired grandson, Brian Albert; godson, Freddie Mason Jr.; brothers, Joseph (Joyce) Melton Jr. of Yulee, FL, Leroy (Vivian) Melton of Shaker Heights, OH, Javan (Carolyn) Melton of Kingsland, GA, and Amos (Lillie Mae) Melton of Yulee, FL; sisters, Thelma (George) Raysor of Yulee, FL, Mary Alice (Reuben) of Hinesville, GA, Sylvia Melton of Yulee, FL, Norma Jean Lockett of Callahan, FL, and Mariah Wigham of Lessie, FL; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
The funeral service for Vineese Melton Albert will be held 2 PM, Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 20 South 9th Street, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. The visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, October 3rd, 2025 at the Funerals by T.S. Warden Fernandina Beach, 410 Beech Street Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. Interment in Brickyard Cemetery.
