Viola Embree Obituary
She was born at home on December 27, 1953, in Mitchell, Indiana, to Osmo C. Petty and Violet (Holt) Petty.
She married Luther Ray Embree on December 19, 1970, in Indiana.
Viola devoted her life to caring for others, both at home and through a long, fulfilling career as a registered nurse. She was a generous and compassionate person, always willing to help those in need. Viola was tough and resilient, and it was her strength and love that carried her through life's many hardships. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, reading, and cooking. Above all, Viola deeply cherished the time she spent with her family, holding those moments closest to her heart.
Viola is survived by her only child, Candace Embree (Scott Holman), of Kentucky; two sisters, Sandra Sherfick, and Opal "Suzy" Mesarosh; and several nieces and nephews.
Viola was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Ray Embree; and siblings Kenny Holt, Donna Kent, Robert Sherfick, Berta Davis, Roscoe Petty, Osmo Petty, Brenda Petty, Tammy Bledsoe, and Diana Riker.
A memorial for Viola will be held at a later date.
