Viola Oldham (Willoughby), age 93 of Old Shawneetown, IL passed away December 11, 2023, at home.
She was born to Allen and Mary (Fields) Randall in Shawneetown, IL on September 28, 1930. Viola married George Oldham in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She later married her companion Hilward Willoughby, he also preceded her in death. Viola worked in Dietary and housekeeping for nineteen years at Loretta Nursing Home and four years at Ridgway Manor. Viola attended Mt Olive Baptist Church in Sturgis, KY. Viola enjoyed to embroidery, quilting, and her flowers.
Viola is survived by one son, George Delbert (Frankie Lynn) Oldham of Cadiz, KY; three daughters, Gatha (David) Coker of Eldorado, IL, Rhonda (Richard) Twitchell of Old Shawneetown, IL, Selma Darlene Harness of Ridgway, IL; eleven grandchildren, Kari Lynn O’Conner, Stacey Oldham, Dylan Oldham, Nicholas Oldham, Susan Thomas, Sandra Waggy, Shawn Oldham, Adam Matthews, Vulenia Johnson, Curtis Oldham, Crystal Amento; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was loved by the entire Village of Old Town. Special thanks to Abby Stewart for being an attentive care giver to her grandmother.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by seven siblings, and two sons in law, Freeman Harness, and Eldon (Eddie) Hise.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown, IL. Burial will follow at the Callicott Cemetery. Bro Stacey Foster will conduct the service. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be two grandsons, Shawn Oldham, Curtis Oldham and four great nephews, Kenny Oldham, Tim Oldham, Chris Oldham, and Ronnie McClaughry.
