Viola Rose Scott, age 92, from Hays, Kansas passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. She was born August 5, 1932, to George and Thelma (Thomas) Clark in Morland, Kansas. Viola was a graduate of Hill City High School and shortly after graduating she married Ernest Scott in WaKeeney, Kansas on July 8, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1992.
She worked at the Fountain Dry Cleaners in Hill City, bookkeeper for Ernie's Auto Repair in Hill City, Gabel’s Bakery, Super 8, Travenol, and the Senior Companion Program all in Hays. She enjoyed playing pinochle and other card games, bingo, embroidery, watching football and having coffee with the ladies.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Johnson of Hays, Rhonda (Ray) Cook of Dodge City, Gloria (Arnie) Bates of Grand Island, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Scott, her parents George and Thelma Clark and her sister Norma Dreiling.
Private family graveside services were held at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Hill City, Kansas with arrangements in care of Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
