Violet Kay (Skinner) Brough, 84, of Bay Township, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born on January 30, 1941, the daughter of Lloyd and Alice (Lieske) Skinner. She graduated from Salem Oak Harbor High School in 1959. She received a certificate from Tiffin University in 1960. On June 25, 1960, she married Charles Arthur Brough. Violet, along with Charlie were dairy and grain farmers that passed knowledge and skills on to their children and grandchildren. She loved her family dearly. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, sprint car races in Attica and Fremont, and traveling -especially to the Texas family where she was known as Daisy. She was active in Farm Bureau and Bay Township Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She always seemed to have birds dive bomb her hair when she was mowing their property. Those who knew her will miss her dearly.

Survivors include her daughters: Julie (Ken) Reinhart of Alvada, Amie (Doug Rall) Kirian of Upper Sandusky, and Jackie (Andy) Haar of Elmore; 10 Grandchildren: Kari (Eric) Colman, Darlie (Joe) DeVaul, Joshua (Erika) Kirian, Craig (Renee) Reinhart, Zachary (Deana) Reinhart, Alan (Andrea) Haar, Tori (Tyler) Seaman, Dustin (Sarah) Haar, Drianna (Rall) Harris, and Dustin Rall; 24 Great-Grandchildren; Brothers: Terry “Pete” (Jan) Skinner, Norvin “Digger” (Tonya) Skinner, Darwin (Gail) Skinner, Sisters: Tana (Bill) Colanduoni, and Sheila Verb.

Violet is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie, sons, John and Lou, her parents, brothers, Leroy and Blaine “Buck” Skinner, and sister, Iva Wightman.

Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11 am -1 pm with funeral services conducted at 1 pm at the funeral home with interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial donations can be given to Bay Township Fire Dept. and Family of Faith Church, Port Clinton.
