Violet Caracciolo Obituary

Caracciolo - Violet Frederika,

96, passed away peacefully at her West Hempstead home on February 25, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, Violet spent her childhood with her twin sister, Rose, in the province of Värmland, Sweden, returning at age nine. She began her nursing career at Brooklyn Hospital and later served at Pilgrim State and Kings Park Psychiatric Centers. Violet was known for her love of beauty and nature, and she cherished her family above all. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Caracciolo (USMC); and twin sister, Rose. She is survived by her daughter,

Diane; her son, Richard and his wife, Cathy; her granddaughters, Kimberly and Deanna; and her niece and nephews, Jennifer, John, and Robert. A private celebration of life will be held at her home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center in Huntington, NY, in honor of her lifelong love for animals.

I will miss my beloved Aunty. Who always had a smile to share, loved a good laugh and drank more coffee than anyone I know. She so loved my Mother and was truly kind to me after Rose passed in 2013. I will miss your weekly calls, our lunches, your hugs and your smiling face waving at the door. May GOD bless you always Aunty. A life well lived <3
