Violet Ruth Parrish "Teenie" Jones

Selma – Violet "Teenie" Ruth Parrish Jones, age 74, passed away Wednesday March 4, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on April 29, 1951 to the late Cleveland Parrish and Vella Ruth Brown Parrish. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Earl Jones; son, Stacy Glenn Jones; sisters, Carolyn Elaine Hicks and Jennifer Irene Barnes Corbett.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday March 8, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held in Deans cemetery on Monday March 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

She is survived by her sisters, Ella Johnson, Faye Capps and Sandra Ellis; several nieces and nephews; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; special loved one, Alex Griggs; and her cat she so adored, "Little One".

Violet's years of substitute teaching are testament of her love for working around and with children. Teenie always enjoyed being outside, especially surrounded by her flowers.
