Violet Rachel Lantz Long, 80, of Mt. Jackson, VA, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at her home. Services will be private at a later date.
Violet was born on March 29, 1944, in Mt. Jackson, VA, daughter of the late Earnel Woodrow and Edna Arlene Dellinger Lantz. She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and a member of Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Long who passed away on October 4, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Weatherholtz and husband, Buddy of Edinburg, VA whom Violet loved like a son; son, Chris Long and wife, Lynn of Englewood, Colorado; sister, Juanita (Edie) Coffelt of Culpepper, VA and her late husband, Richard Coffelt; brother, Jerry R. Lantz (Sherry) of Churchville, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer Sealock and husband, Robbie of Front Royal, VA, Nikki Long of Englewood, Colorado; great grandchildren, Taylor Sealock and Robert "Robbie" Allen Sealock both of Front Royal, VA, Lilly and Junior Long of Englewood, Colorado; two nieces, Nadine Smith and Angela Walters; and a nephew, Stephen Coffelt.
