VIOLET MOYNS ORCHARD, age 89, died on Thursday, September 17, 2009, at William Beaumont Hospital, in Troy, Michigan. She was born Violet Zanewski on May 25, 1920, in Detroit, to Michael and Anna Zanewski. She had been a resident of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and was a former resident of Livonia. Education: Violet graduated from Pershing High School (Detroit) in 1938. During her high school years, she was a table tennis champion. Mrs. Orchard was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a caring homemaker. During her children's school years she was very active in their activities. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and needle crafts. She was a former member of the Polish Women's Alliance. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI 48084 (between Maple and Big Beaver Roads), with an evening Scripture Service at 7 PM. Funeral Mass: Monday, September 21, 2009 - 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Hills Church, 2675 John R, Rochester Hills, Michigan, with Reverend Leon Olszamowski officiating. Visitation at church begins Monday at 9:30 AM.
