Violet Henry Scarbrough

Violet Scarbrough, age 93, of Harriman, TN passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Jamestowne Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family. Violet's life was a shining example of faith, love, and service, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She married Fred "Pete" Scarbrough Jr. in 1954 shortly after he came back from the Korean War. Violet was a member of South Harriman Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and raised three children, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she faithfully served alongside her husband as he pastored local churches. She loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior. She was loved by her family, friends and church members they served. The last three years she lived in Jamestowne Assisted Living, and her children are thankful for the way they loved and cared for her. We are most thankful she is now with Jesus, Daddy and all her family and friends who have gone before her. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred "Pete" Scarbrough Jr., parents Bert and Amanda Henry, sister Louise Henry Tollett, brothers Leo Henry, Hollis Henry, Leffle Henry. She is survived by her daughters Vickie Scarbrough Kurtz (Norm), Tammie Scarbrough Stephenson (Craig), son Michael Christopher Scarbrough (Jennifer), sisters Mabel Henry Blaylock, Pansy Henry Brown, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman. Funeral at 2 p.m. with Sam Leslie officiating. Burial will follow the Funeral Service in Emory Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Harriman Baptist Church.
