Virgil L. Campbell, age 71, of Dayton, passed away April 8, 2025. He was born April 4, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Thomas and Kathleen Campbell. In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Estes; sister, Tammy Watson; grandson, Aaron Scott Campbell; and nephew, Bryan Campbell.
Virgil is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy Campbell; son, Andy Campbell (Trish); daughter, Angie Couch (Leon); brother, Duck Campbell (Elaine); sisters: Terry Miller (Jeff) and Patty Hollifield; grandchildren: Paige Campbell (Christian), Zach Campbell (Mackenzie), Savannah Couch and Darren Couch; great-grandchildren: Addy Campbell, Isaac Akin and Aaron Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Virgil was a hard worker; he was an auto mechanic, a tow truck driver and retired from Chrysler after many years of service. He loved animals, working on cars, riding motorcycles and fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for a part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Virgil's memory to any animal shelter of your choice. To share a memory of Virgil or to leave his family a special message, please sign the online guestbook provided. Virgil's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
