With heavy hearts, we announce that Virgil (Bill) Wilson of Douglasville, GA, passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 78.
He was born in Pasco, Washington, on August 3, 1947, to the late J. Edwin and Verda Wilson.
A proud veteran, Virgil served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He then began working as a computer programmer and operator, eventually rising to be a well-respected manager for AT&T.
He spent the later part of his life as a beloved bus driver for Smyrna Towers Senior Apartments and enjoying his passion for music. A life-long Elvis fan, he dazzled audiences with his covers of both Elvis and other classic hits. And when not performing on stage, he could always be counted on to share his quick wit and a good laugh with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David and Darryl, and his sister Judie. Virgil is survived by his brothers Don and Dale; his children Mark Wilson and Jennifer McKinnon; his grandchildren Heather, Robert, and Alex, and his special lady Robin Hughes; along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Virgil was a man of integrity, who loved everybody and was loved in return. Donations in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital.
