In the early morning hours on December 17, 2023 family gathered closely around the hospital bed as the last chapter in the life of Virginia Bloom came peacefully to a close. Born in the cold of January, in the small town of Peebles, Ohio, in 1933, to Ralph and Minnie Newman, Virginia would be the oldest of five children, three of which would survive into adulthood. Together, Virginia, her sister, Joanne, and their little brother Johnny "Bump" Newman would see the end of World War II, and survive the poverty of the Great Depression. Then, as a young lady, she would meet a handsome Air Force serviceman that she would come to call her husband, Howard. Together, they would have many adventures and see many worldly places before setting roots on a small farm in Mt Orab, Ohio. Howard Bloom would become the anchor of her life, and the patriarch of their budding family producing three children, Vicki, Jeff, and Brent. Raising their family in the Christian faith, Virginia would be a full time mother and farmers wife, while Howard would work in the fields of the farm by day and at General Electric at night. Virginia leaves behind, in life, her siblings, Joanne Brown, and Johnny "Bump" Newman, two of her three children, Jeff Bloom, and Brent Bloom, seven grandchildren, Erin Camenisch (Kevin), Lindsay Keam, Jennifer Bowman, Jeffery Bloom Jr (Lindsey), Autumn Bloom, Elaine Bloom, and Colton Bloom. As well as many more great grandchildren, Matthew, Mollie, Lindsay, Damien, Natalie, Zachary, Madison, Avery, Ben, and Cameron. As well as some Great Great Grandchildren, Eloise, and the newest addition to our family Forrest Neal. She joins her parents, husband, and oldest daughter, Vicki in heaven. She touched many lives and will be sorely missed by us all. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 21 at Myers cemetery 6640 0H – 48, Goshen, OH 45122 beginning at 2 PM. There will be a visitation at Evans Funeral Home 1944 State Route 28 Goshen, OH 45122 12:30 – 1:30 PM then travel in procession to the cemetery.
