Virginia Miller Carson

What a gift to have known Virginia and worked with her as she guided me and my daughter through the complicated paths of music theory and piano. She did so much to help my daughter as she pursued her musical career. Her undying loyalty to Susanne Henkel as she battled cancer and her devotion to helping others as she herself was not always feeling her best convinced me that she was a truly sweet person. I wish I could have located her over the last 10 years so we could have corresponded. We will miss her sense of humor and her amazing patience. What a lovely lady!

Ms. Carson was truly a blessing to me during my years at VUU. She was my accompanist for my senior recital as well my piano teacher. She always gave me an encouraging word even when I was hard on myself. She will truly be missed. Latasha Yerby Lee

Mrs. Carson was one of the best! I thoroughly enjoyed being in her company, being taught piano lessons by her, and being in various choirs in which she was the accompanist. Virginia was a beautiful person and great family friend. I always considered her to be my "aunt Virginia" as she was my mother's best friend. I have very fond memories of Virginia and her sense of humor was the best. She could make you laugh til you cried. Although our family is so sorry she is gone from this life, it is comforting to know that the Heaven's just received another angel. We will miss you Virginia and loved you dearly. Having had the privilege of being the minister at Pace Memorial UMC when Virginia was our Director of Music Ministries, I look back on those years and the rich experiences, both musically and spiritually with Virginia, and shall always hold her in my highest esteem. Sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Carson. Ms. Carson was truly a stature of music and a faithful faculty member here at Virginia Union University. It was really a pleasure for me to have known her.
