Virginia L. Chaplin July 24, 1932 — Aug 27, 2009 SWEETSER—Virginia L. Chaplin, 77, Sweetser, died at 9:49 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in St. Paul, Va. and had been a resident of Sweetser most of her life. She married George W. Chaplin. He preceded her in death. Virginia was a homemaker and a member of Sweetser Wesleyan Church. She loved crocheting and camping and was an avid Euchre player. She enjoyed reading her Bible, traveling and Grandma Sunday’s with her family. Lots of food and fun! Survivors include daughters, Connie (Richie) Hendey, Marion, Corinnia Rish, Claypool;; grandsons, Matthew Hendey, Adam (Kara) Hendey, William Abbott; great-grandchildren, Caden, Serena, Caleb, Lane, Leah, Kayla, Craig; sister, Bernice (Jim) Ritter; and brother, Herman Johnson. She was preceded in death by brother, Carl Johnson; husband, George Chaplin; and parents. Services are at 10 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2009 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion with Pastor David Parker officiating.
