Virginia M. De Moss of Blandinsville, Illinois, died on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was born on Feruary 5, 1944 at Graham Hospital, in Canton, Illinois to John W. and Marjorie Opal Walters Oliver. She married R.K. De Moss on March 22, 1976 at the Presbyterian Church in Stronghurst, Illinois.
She attended schools in Canton, Illinois. She attended Carl Sandburg College, Western Illinois University, received her Nursing Certificate from Spoon River College in Macomb and took continuing education courses through the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
She worked for several years as a floral designer in Fulton, McDonough and Hancock counties. She was a civil service employee at Western Illinois University. She worked as a geriatric nurse in McDonough and Hancock counties until her retirement in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one step-daughter, Yvonne "Bonnie" Asbury, one brother, Wesley Oliver and one sister, Avis Oliver Dominski.
She is survived by 3 step-daughters, Nancy Wilkinson, Annette Faull and Cassandra "Sue" Johnson, nieces, nephews and many other friends and family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Grave side services will be held at the Old South Cemetery in Blandinsville, Illinois at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2025.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the HSMC New Animal Shelter.
Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville is in charge of arrangements.
