Virginia Crim Draper

Manteo, NC – Virginia Crim Draper, beloved Mom, Grandmom, friend and teacher, passed away November 15, 2025 in the Outer Banks Hospital surrounded by family. Born March 14, 1929, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Winfred Mason Crim and Ella Virginia Scofield Crim, she lived a full 96 years. Her love and faith in God will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is dancing and singing praises to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven. Isaiah 25:1

Virginia received a BA Degree in English and Art from Mary Washington College and was a retired teacher for Southampton County Public Schools. She had been residing with her son and his family in Manteo in her later years and was a faithful member of Manteo Faith Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Homer V. "Billy" Draper III (Melva), Kathleen D. Wiechec (Mike), Lee K. Draper, and Timothy M. Draper; grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Sarah, Karynjoy, William, Victoria, Katie, Joshua, and Bryce and their spouses; great grandchildren, Allison, Hailey, Tony, Adriana, Jeremy, and Kierra; and good friend Tisha and closest friend Vicky.

A Graveside Service will be held at Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins, VA on January 17, 2026 at 12 Noon. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Manteo Faith Baptist Church in Manteo, NC on January 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The family suggests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Manteo Faith Baptist Church, 1037 Burnside Rd., Manteo, NC 27954.
