Virginia Ann "Ginger" Thorne Etter, 78, passed away at her family home and farm of 57 years on April 16, 2022. Born May 14, 1943 to Walter Edward Thorne and Sarah Louise McCoy Thorne in Oregon City, Oregon. She was one of 7 children.
Ginger grew up on Iowa Ave in Chariton, Iowa. She married Jerry Carl Etter on June 25, 1960 in Chariton, Iowa. They raised 3 amazing children Bernard, Bruce and Christine. Their love grew through their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many family, friends and neighbors.
Ginger seen to it no one ever left the family home hungry. She was very talented and always busy doing the following; cooking, baking, decorating cakes, paintings, photography, sewing, crocheting and most importantly hunting games, hunting mushrooms and going to the casino. Her and Jerry absolutely lived to fish with family and friends. They loved to spend time at their home away from home in Talmoon Minnesota, on Etter Road at their cabin.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Sarah Thorne, husband Jerry Carl Etter, son Bernard Carl Etter, brothers, Frank Thorne and Richard "Butch" Thorne. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Bruce Edward Etter, daughter Christine K. Etter Keeler (John), brothers, Glen Thorne (Tyra) of Trenton, MO, William Thorne (Drew), sisters, Carolyn Thorne McFarland, Joyce Thorne Polo all of Chariton, Iowa, grandchildren, Jerry, Andrew, Leta, Rosa, Jena, Sara, Gizzy, Zachary and 10 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
