Virginia Lynn Hilbrich, age 72, of
Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025. Born on February 19, 1953, in Corpus Christi, Virginia lived a life full of love, resilience, and warmth.
Virginia attended King high school in Corpus Christi. She was a supervisor at Levi Strauss for many years before retiring from the Corpus Christi Army Depot in 2015.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Garland Hilbrich, and her children: Shawn Milford (Yunae Milford), Jeremy Kohr (Windy Kohr), Tra Hilbrich (Heidi Hilbrich), Sabra Herschap (Skipper Herschap), and Reegan Hilbrich (Linda Hilbrich). She was also a proud and loving "bonus mom" to Melissa Buckler and Carrie Jackson (Aric Martinez).
Virginia's legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Haley Underbrink, Cody Underbrink, Christopher Hilbrich, Anika Hilbrich, Katelyn Hilbrich, Stephen Hilbrich, Nathaniel Hilbrich, Matthew Hilbrich, Elena Ploegsma, Jocelyn Kohr, Isabella Kohr, Christian Buckler, Kaleb Buckler, Keegan Buckler, and Dillan Martinez as well as 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Irene Wilkerson; her father Lindon Cleo Jackson Jr: her son, Christopher Lindon Milford; her sisters and Ann McQuater and Judy Jeanette Jackson; and her brother, John Douglas Jackson.
Virginia was known for her fiery spirit and tender heart. She was tough as steel, wise beyond words, and never short on good advice. A natural storyteller and music lover, she filled rooms with laughter and comfort. She had a flair for funky shoes, an eye for seashells, and a passion for collecting candles. She found her greatest joy surrounded by family-whether cooking in the kitchen, tending to her garden or relaxing on the beach.
Her presence was a gift, and her love was constant. Her favorite quote was: "Never above you, never below you, always beside you." And that's how she lived-with strength, equality, and unwavering support.
A service to honor Virginia's life will be held at Seaside Funeral Home on August 2nd at 11:00 a.m., located at 4357 Ocean Dr.,
Corpus Christi, TX 78412. In true Jenny fashion, we would like to honor her with coastal/casual attire. Reception to follow service.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and strength will carry on through all who were blessed to know her.
