Virginia Jarred, a beacon of love and faithfulness, graced this world with her presence on February 6, 1931, in Danville, IL, and on May 13, 2025, she peacefully concluded her inspiring journey in
Evansville, IN, surrounded by the love of her family.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Virginia, the matriarch of the Jarred family, was the cherished wife of the late Neal Kenneth Jarred, and the guiding star for her children – Kenneth Neal Jarred (Marianne), Timothy Morris Jarred (Doris), Jonathan Allen Jarred, Julia Jarred, and Janice Jarred. Her legacy continues to bloom through her beloved grandchildren, Victoria Jarred and Brittany Bailey (Cordon), and her adored great-grandchild, Colsen Titzer. She was also a dear aunt to her nephew, Jan Hagerman (Tracy) of Cedar Hill, TN. Although her sisters Iris Hathaway and Emma Hagerman predeceased her, the memories they shared will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew them.
Virginia's life was a testament to the power of gentleness and the strength found in quiet dedication. Her love for gardening was more than a hobby; it was a symbol of how she nurtured and cultivated the relationships in her life, allowing them to flourish. She found solace in the pages of her Bible, and her faith was the cornerstone that she built her life around. The aromas from her kitchen were invitations to gather, and her cooking was the thread that sewed family and friends together in warmth and joy.
Her love for crossword puzzles paralleled the way she lived her life – thoughtfully, with intention, and always seeking to piece together the bigger picture. Each word, each moment, was cherished and placed with care, just like the flowers she so adored.
Virginia's gentle spirit was a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her. She walked through life with a loving heart and a faith-filled soul, embodying the virtues of kindness and compassion. Her story is not one of an ending, but a continuous ripple of positivity and love that will echo through the generations.
Today, as we celebrate Virginia's remarkable life, let us carry forward the lessons she imparted through her example. Let her memory be a garden from which we draw sustenance, a recipe for togetherness, a puzzle that reminds us to cherish each piece of our own lives, and a scripture of love to guide our way. Virginia Jarred's legacy is a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and her spirit will forever be an uplifting presence in the lives of those she touched.
The family would like to give a very special and heartfelt thank you to Deaconess Hospital & Linda E White Hospice for their compassionate care.
