Virginia Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory - Branson on Mar. 7, 2026.
Virginia Elizabeth Johnson was born on August 13, 1941 in Springfield, Missouri. She passed away on March 4, 2026, at her home in Branson, MO at the age of 84.

Virginia dedicated many years of her life as a skilled and meticulous secretary at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. In April 1998, she and her husband Roger made the move from Sycamore, IL to embrace a life of caring for Virginia's family in Missouri.

Virginia was active an active member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She had the loving support of those who shared her immense Faith. And she loved others unconditionally. This contributed to the strength and purpose in her life's journey.

Virginia will be remembered as an avid golfer, enjoying time spent on the course with Roger, family and friends. With a camera rarely out of reach, she was also a talented photographer who loved capturing the beauty of the world around her. Her love for photography was only rivaled by her love for cooking and baking-a love that translated into an impressive collection of recipe books.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, LaFontaine "Bud" Paul and Margery (Williams) Anderson; her dear husband, Roger K. Johnson in February of 2025; and one step-son, Michael I. Johnson.

She will be deeply missed by her wide circle of friends; her step-son, Jeffrey Johnson and wife Francie, six grandchildren as well as great grandchildren.

She approached life with a genuine desire to enrich the lives of others through kindness and love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and those who were privileged to know her.

Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service in the near future. Friends and family will be notified. Virginia will be laid to rest next to Roger in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson under the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
