Virginia Australia Lockman

Virginia Australia Lockman, 90, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on December 27, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1935 to Walter and Selena Jones in Memphis, Tennessee. Virginia graduated from Booker T. Washington high school in 1954 and was married with four children. She attended St. Luke's A.M.E. of Orlando.

After taking care of her children, she went back to school and received a diploma as a Certified Nursing Assistant; taking a job at the hospital for a little while before joining Hunter Fan in 1966. The committee she was active in awarded her the Social Action Committee Award (Local 790). Hunter Fan then funded her college and she was certified in warehouse management. Virginia got a degree of Royal Exalted of Amaranth, certification for Queen of the South and trustee from Providence A.M.E. She retired from Hunter Fan on August 31, 2001 after 35 years of service. She later re-joined Providence A.M.E. Church in 1972 and was in the choir and Golden Rule Club.

Virginia is survived by son Tim (Pam) Lane of Leesburg, FL, brother Arthur Jones of Memphis, TN, a host of grandkids, nieces, nephews and loving family.
