   Virginia “Lois” Nanney, 78, of Shelby, NC, stepped rejoicingly into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 10, 2023.  She was a member of Dover Baptist Church and spent many years working at Doran Mill.  Lois will be remembered for her love and her family, flowers, and for working in her yard. 

   Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Thomas Wayne Nanney, her parents, Virginia Davis and Ralph Davis, her sister, Charlotte Smith, and her brother Doug Davis.

   She is survived by her two sons, Thomas Wayne Nanney, Jr. (wife, Lori) of Boiling Springs, NC, and Tracy Nanney (wife, Lisa) of Shelby, NC, three grandsons, Adam Nanney of Boiling Springs, Kyle Nanney (wife, Savannah) of Boiling Springs, and Trevor Nanney of Shelby, and one great-grandson, Jaxson Kyle Nanney, also of Boiling Springs.  She is also survived by her two cousins and best friends, Diane Whisnant and Teresa Brooks, both of Shelby, and several nieces and nephews.

   A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Dover Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Bulo Price.  A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby. 

   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
