VIRGINIA ALICE MAUZY, age 92 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, January 27, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins, WV. She was born Saturday, March 6, 1918 at Harman, WV, a daughter of the late Michael and Hattie Vance Mauzy. She had never married. Surviving are three brothers, Paul Mauzy, Sr., Richard Mauzy, John Mauzy and wife Erma, one sister, Mary Mauzy, two nephews, Paul Mauzy, Jr. and Michael Mauzy, one niece, Lisa Wilfong and husband David, all of Parsons, four great nephews, J.D. Armstrong and wife Jen, Dustin Mauzy, Brad Stevens, and Tyler Mauzy, one great niece, Melissa Sexton and husband Jeremy, and two great great nephews, Anthony and Jacob Gwynn. She attended school at Cass, WV, and then moved to Parsons in 1934. During World War II, she worked at the Parsons Woolen Mill. After the war, she was a cook at Mill Run School. She then worked for Dr. Lothes as a dental assistant until her retirement. She was an active member and Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Parsons. She loved to cook, attend church and spend time with her family and travel. She was a mother and true friend to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday, from 5 to 8 PM. On Monday morning, January 31, 2011, Virginia will be moved to the First Baptist Church at Parsons, where friends may call from 12:30 until 1:30PM the funeral hour. Pastor Allen D.
