Virginia M. Rex, 94, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 17, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Rex.

Born in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the late James & Marie Miller.

After graduating from Kittanning High School, Virginia worked in the state legislative office of W. Stuart Helm, representative from Armstrong County in Harrisburg.

Marrying in 1950, she was an Avon Lady, crossing guard, lunchroom monitor, Boy Scout Den Mother, Skippack "Pool Mom", and was a secretary in the District Attorney's Office at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown. Virginia enjoyed camping and reading, especially the Women's Murder Club Series. She also loved her little doggies Precious, Meiling, and Muffin.

She is survived by her children, Bridget Maida (Vinny), Richard Friday, Jr, Melissa Young (Bobby), Renee Bartlett (Dan), and Derek Friday (Sandy); her grandchildren Jeremy, Joshua, James, Ryan, Morgan, Devon, Angela, Trevor, Chase, Christopher, Cameron, Gabrielle, Savannah, and Derek, Jr.; great grandchildren Madison, Brandon, Braelynn, Jillian, Isaiah, Elijah, Sam, Kate, Henry, Anna, Julia, Maddy, Shawn, Isabel, Joe, Kendra, Liam, Brielle and Brian Jr.; and her brother David Miller.

Besides her husband and parents, Virginia was predeceased by her stepmother Florence Miller and her siblings Richard Miller and Evelyn Doeling.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA.
