Virginia Richardson Obituary
Published by Legacy on Nov. 3, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Richardson "Ginnie", a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and cherished member of her community. Ginnie passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2025, at the age of 73. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2026. More information to follow, watch announcements.
Born on March 30th, 1952, Ginnie lived a life marked by devotion to her family, kindness toward others, and a heartfelt commitment to the people and community she loved. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, generosity, and steady presence. Ginnie grew up with a deep appreciation for family, community, and the value of hard work. She attended Patrick Henry High School, where she formed friendships that stayed with her throughout her life. Later, she worked at Pearson Candy, a place where her reliability, kindness, and gentle humor were admired by all who knew her. In 1969, at the Molton Roller Rink, life brought Ginnie together with the man who would become her lifelong partner - Jim. Their connection was instant, and the love they built together grew into something beautiful and enduring. They married on July 8th, 1972, and created a life rooted in devotion, teamwork, and joy. Their greatest blessings came in the form of their two children, Heidi and Randy, who became the heart of Ginnie's world. Ginnie retired from Target 2011.
Ginnie was a woman who poured her love into everything she did. She was a wonderful cook, and her meals always carried the feeling of comfort and togetherness. She raised cows and pigs with dedication, reflecting her strong work ethic and quiet pride in doing things well. Flowers and gardening brought her joy, and her gardens were always filled with color, cared for with the same nurturing spirit she gave to her family. She also had an adventurous side. Ginnie loved riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, enjoying the freedom of the open road and the thrill of winter trails. Classic car shows were a special delight for her - especially when shared with Jim. Among her treasures was her beloved 1923 T Bucket and 1931 Model A two-door sedan, a classic beauty she cherished and proudly shared at shows. But above all, Ginnie's greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply and without hesitation. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy - especially Valerie and Austin, with whom she shared countless special moments, stories, hugs, and memories that will stay with them forever. To them, she wasn't just "Grandma"; she was comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
Ginnie is survived by her devoted husband Jim and her dog Teddy, her daughter Heidi, her son Randy, and her beloved grandchildren, who will carry her love forward in their hearts.
Ginnie lived a life filled with purpose, tenderness, adventure, and joy. Though we feel her loss deeply, we are comforted by the memories she leaves behind: flowers blooming in the summer sun, meals shared at a full table, engines humming at car shows, and her warm laughter echoing through the years. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the values she passed down. May we honor her by living with the same generosity, courage, and devotion that she showed every day. May Ginnie rest in peace, and may her spirit remain with us always.
