Virginia Marie Salamone of River Edge passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 100.

Born on October 22, 1924 in Chicago, Virginia was raised by her grandparents on a farm in Illinois. Virginia would later move to the Fordham section of the Bronx. In 1947 she married her beloved husband, Joseph F. Salamone and together they shared more than 65 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2013. In 1971, they settled in River Edge, where Virginia built a warm and loving home surrounded by family and friends. She worked for many years with area supermarkets as a bookkeeper, a career she loved.

Virginia was known for her incredible Italian cooking, her devotion to her loved ones, and her ability to bring family together around the table. She was deeply cherished as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and her love will remain with all who were blessed to know her.

Virginia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph F. Salamone, Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Joseph F. Salamone Jr. and his wife Phyllis, and Debra A. DeGeorge and her husband Anthony. Virginia is the devoted grandmother to Christine Salamone, Cindy Salamone, Paul Salamone, Anthony DeGeorge Jr., and Brian DeGeorge and his wife Samantha. She was also the adoring great-grandmother to Gerard, Gage, and Lexi.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Boulevard Funeral Home, 1151 River Road, New Milford, New Jersey. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday morning, September 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York.
