Virginia (Dyer) Sprowl, 94, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Saturday, March 14th, at Monroe County Medical Center.

Virginia was born in Vernon, KY on April 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Dora (Anderson) and Bob Dyer.

She worked as a mail carrier for many years. Virginia was a long standing
member of Vernon Church of Christ and recently a member of Lyons Chapel Church of Christ. Her favorite title was being "GiGi" to her great grandchildren.

She married Edgar Sprowl, Sr. on October 9, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1987. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family.

Virginia is survived by a son, Roger Sprowl, of Moss, TN; daughters-in-law, Linda Sprowl, of Tompkinsville, KY and Barbara Jo Hammer of Tompkinsville, KY; three grandchildren, Nikki Stamm (Brian), Melanie Miller (Alex), Jeff Sprowl (Jessica), five great grandchildren, Sydney Stamm, Maggie Miller, Zoey Sprowl, Aaliyah Macedo and Alex Macedo Jr.; caregiver, Melivna Walden; and special grandchildren, Charity Botts and Shelby Walker, and a host of special nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Edgar Sprowl, Jr., brother, Mack Dyer; sisters, Betty Lane, Gladys Cook, Margaret Sprowl, Katherine Jackson, Inez Emmert, Addie Crabtree and Clara Combs; and someone very special to her, Teresa Botts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22nd at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

Visitation is Saturday, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations in Virginia's memory may be to Bailey Cemetery.
