Virginia Swanson Wyke, age 87, of Morganton passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Grace Heights. She was born February 3, 1935 in Caldwell County to the late Lewis Swanson and Lourie Swanson Sanders. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Raymond Wyke; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Chester; step-father, Glenn V. Sanders; two brothers, Infant George Glenn Swanson and Jack Swanson; and one sister, Eva Greene.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, David Wyke and wife Rebecca of Morganton; one daughter, Kathy Ward and husband Nolan of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Holly Black, Dawn Warren, Jonathan Wyke, Nathan Ward, and Eli Ward; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at Hartland Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Todd Smith.
