Vitilia Prates Romano Ferreira, born December 19, 1933, in Lisbon, Portugal, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at the age of 92. Her long life was defined by courage, devotion, and a deep love for her family.

Vitilia began her journey in Lisbon, where her roots and traditions shaped the strength and grace she carried throughout her life. She later moved to New Jersey, building a home filled with warmth, resilience, and the values she held dear. In her later years, she settled in Sanford, Florida, where she enjoyed a quieter chapter surrounded by family and sunshine.

She is survived by her three sons - Fernando, Paul, and Victor - who will forever carry her lessons and her unwavering support in their hearts. Vitilia also leaves behind daughter-in-law Judy, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, each a testament to the legacy of love she nurtured across generations.

Those who knew Vitilia will remember her for her wisdom, her gentle strength, and the way she made others feel seen and cared for. Her presence was a steady anchor, and her memory will continue to guide and inspire all who loved her.

Funeral services will be held on January 22 at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 905 Laurel Avenue, Sanford, Fl from 2 to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, in-memory donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America (www.dementiasociety.org)
