Vito LaSala died peacefully March 14, 2023, surrounded by family at the age of 94
Born May 03, 1928, in San Vito Lo Capo Sicily; Vito was the third of six children born to Teresa Badalucco and Gabriele LaSala. Vito went on to serve in the Italian Army from 1946 to 1948, where he worked as an Assistant to an Officer. After his time in the Army, he went to work on his family farm helping his parents. Until he started working at the marble quarry mining marble for the next 20 years.
Vito met his wife Giuseppa in 1954, through Vito's sister (Vincenza) where he stated it was love at first sight. They went on to get married September 25, 1956 and have two children of their own (Gabriele and Teresa); later moving to Monterey in 1977. Once arriving in Monterey Vito began working on the local wharf. He gained employment at Abalonetti's for the next 23 years before retiring.
Vito is survived by his wife Giuseppa; his son Gabriele (MariaRosa), his daughter Teresa (Vito), his three grandchildren Albert (Nicole), Josie (Matt), and Josephine, as well as his three great grandchildren Brynn, Kailee, and Kyler.
