Vivian Acol Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oak Park Hills Chapel - Magleby Family Northern California on Jun. 24, 2021.
Vivian Cagaoan Acol, age 79, of Walnut Creek, CA passed away on June 8, 2021 surrounded by her family, including her 96-year-old mother Filomena Lopez. She is now reunited with her husband Juniom Amante Acol and their late children Danessa and Darius "Bully" Acol and other family members.
Vivian leaves behind her two surviving children; Desiree Acol (Kim Tinei) of Walnut Creek, CA and Dominic and Sandra (Russell) Acol of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren: Christian Kekoa 'O Kalani Acol, Louis Juniom Kahakauila Tinei-Acol, Lestat Dakota (Kate) Acol-Newgen, Ashleigh Kauilanikapuauluwehi (Jason) Adkins and Alexis Vivian Kim Kawenaulaalohinani; two great grandchildren, Rochelle KeAnelalaniikemakaulukoa Acol and Beckett Kanaloa Adkins; brothers Bernardino Reyes Lopez, Jr., Franklin Joseph (Ann) Lopez, Armenio Michael (Yolanda) Lopez and Clayton Euligio (Debra) Lopez; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and relatives.
Vivian worked as a bank teller for Bank of Hawaii in Kealakekua-Kona. After retiring from the bank, worked for KTA Supermarket as a cashier in Kailua-Kona and later became a childcare provider teaching the children in her care her famous "Hi Neighbor" song that is still fondly remembered by all. She and her husband Juniom moved to California in 2003 and helped open and worked at L&L Drive Inn in Pleasant Hill where she met and made many friends. She finished up her career working as a Food Demonstrator for CDS at Costco in Concord, where her smile and friendly personality warranted many friendships.
Her favorite hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and doing quilt work. She also enjoyed watching Korean Dramas and Food Network shows.
She was loved by many who knew her for her lifetime and those who met her for just one moment. She was called "Girl", "Manang", "Sistah" and of course Mom, Mommy, Grandma and G-Ma. She was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met and always had a kind word to say wherever she went and with whomever she met. She was the oldest girl in her generation, and everyone looked up to her and respected her immensely. She was a pillar of strength that held her family together through good times and bad times. She always looked for the good in everything and everyone. Her faith was strong, and she will be remembered for her strength to push through any adversity that came her way.
A memorial mass for Vivian Acol is planned for Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill, California at 10:30 a.m. Aloha Attire.
