Vivian Bonow of
Mays Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024, at the age of 86, in
Somers Point, NJ. She was born on January 11, 1938, in New York, New York, to Anthony and Rose Messina Spero. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dominic Spero and husband Billy Bonow.
Vivian will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lori McDonald, and son-in-law, Art McDonald; her daughter, Julie Edge, and son-in-law, Michael Edge; her granddaughters, Kelly McDonald and Casey McDonald; her brother, Jack Spero; her sisters, JoAnn Spatola, Marie Spero, and Brenda Dougherty; her dearest friends MaryLynn and Phyllis; and her beloved cat, Lily.
Viv grew up in Mizpah and was a long time resident of Northfield where she raised two girls, Lori and Julie with husband Billy.
She graduated from Pleasantville High School and earned a nursing degree from Atlantic Community College. Her occupations changed over the years, but most recently was a slot supervisor at the Hilton Casino in Atlantic City.
Viv had a passion for antiques and could often be found exploring antique shops, searching for hidden treasures. She had a talent for crocheting and enjoyed making beautiful items for her loved ones. Vivian was also skilled in china painting and jewelry making, always putting her heart and creativity into each piece.
She was a woman of exquisite taste and class. You would never catch her not looking stylish or without the best accessories.
A private service will be held to honor Vivian's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Atlantic County in Vivian's memory. Her love for animals was evident, and supporting this cause would be a fitting tribute to her compassionate nature.
Viv will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
