On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, God called home one of his strongest and most loving children, as Vivian Joan Boswell took her final breath, surrounded by her family, in her longtime home in Boonton Township, NJ.

Born into the loving family of James and Vivian (Rescigno) Bruno in August of 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, Vivian had a happy childhood as the only sister of three boys. Eventually the family moved to Fair Lawn, NJ and Vivian graduated from St. Ann High School in Hohokus. She went on to attend Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School.

Vivian was a member of the Garden State Ski Club, and it was there that she met Robert Boswell. They fell in love and married, eventually settling in Boonton Township. Vivian and Bob started their family, and their business on Main Street – Sports Services Ski Shop. She was a key player, running the office there and at Bob Boswell Pool Service.

When she wasn't busy in the family business or with the kids, Vivian was a devoted member of Jacksonville Chapel. She also found time to be part of the Welcome Wagon in Boonton where she made lifelong friends.

In 1971, Vivian was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Bob and her children were her biggest champions. She never let her disease and health struggles hold her back from being a devoted mom and wife. No matter how difficult her physical challenges, she managed to forge on, always smiling and never complaining.

Vivian lost her beloved Bob in 2021. Prior to that she lost her brother, Joseph Bruno and her brothers in law, John Bell and William Boswell. She is survived by her adored children, Robert Boswell and his wife Roma; Vivian Pritts and her husband Tim; Khristie Hauck and her husband Gary; and Holly D'Aulisa; her cherished grandchildren, Romie, Vivian Kara-Joy, Naomi, Vivian Grace, Zachary, Andrew, Jamie, Kelly, Alec, Sabrina and Audrey Vivian; her brothers, James Bruno and his wife, Julie; and Robert Bruno and his wife Cathy; her sisters in law, Louise Ann Boswell and June Bell; and many nieces and nephews.

Please join her family for a service on Friday, October 17th at 2:00pm in The Chapel, 264 Jacksonville Road, Lincoln Park. Interment will be at Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Boonton Township, down the street from her home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vivian's honor to World Ministries would be most appreciated.

The family was assisted by Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. To share condolences or memories, please visit CodeyMackeyFH.com.

Dearest Missy, you were so loved and will be missed. There are so many wonderful memories of us growing up. The three of us, Missy, Joe and I being so close in age. One that comes to mind is the time there was a dance at the Milne's School and Dave Rochard was dancing with you. Fun times. There were many good times both as children and as adults. Rest in Peace, until we meet again.
