Vivian DeVoe Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Viegut Funeral Home on Jan. 19, 2026.
Vivian DeVoe, a longtime Loveland resident and respected mortgage business owner, passed away on January 8th after a courageous three year struggle with peripheral artery disease. She was 70.
Born in Oregon, Vivian spent her early childhood moving with her siblings as their father, Eddie Grugal, traveled for work. After his tragic passing in a house fire, the children were cared for by extended family until their mother, Bobbie, reunited them and settled the family in Leroy, Michigan. There, Vivian completed high school and formed a lifelong bond with her dearest friend, Bonnie.
After graduation, Vivian moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as an ER admitting clerk. She met her first husband, Del, and together they traveled the country in their Airstream, working on major earthen dam projects. Del passed away from cancer in Redding, California, in 1982.
Vivian relocated to Denver in 1983 and then to Colorado Springs, where she met her future husband, Kim, who was attending college. In 1986, the two set off in her motor home to California in search of new opportunities and were married in 1987. They remodeled their first home together in Forestville, overlooking the Korbel Vineyards on the Russian River, accompanied by her beloved dog, Fella, and RP the cat.
Vivian earned her real estate license in 1988 and began her career at Wright Realty in Windsor. In 1992, she and Kim welcomed their son, Robert, and soon moved into a new home in Windsor. Determined to find the perfect place to raise their family, they sold their properties and spent many months traveling the western United States in their fifth wheel trailer. When they discovered Loveland, they knew they had found home, settling there in late 1993.
Vivian worked as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker in Loveland until 1999, then transitioned into mortgage lending. She served as a loan originator for several companies before opening her own branch of Crestline/Universal Lending and America's Mortgage from 2003 to 2010. She later joined Home State Bank, where she met Casey Arnett; together they founded Arnett and DeVoe Mortgage Company in 2016.
Vivian was admired by colleagues and cherished by clients. Many who worked with her became lifelong friends, often returning years later with referrals. She was known for her honesty, her infectious laugh, and her generous spirit-frequently taking on challenging loans and working at par simply to help clients achieve their goals.
Beyond her professional life, Vivian was deeply engaged in her community. She was a Thompson Valley Rotarian, a member of the Wild Wednesday Women, and the beloved "neighborhood mom," always ready to help stray children and pets find their way home.
Vivian is survived by her husband, Kim DeVoe, and their son, Robert DeVoe, of Loveland; her brother Robert Grugal and his wife Sharon, also of Loveland; and her brother Joe and his wife Sally of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte, her mom Bobbie, and father Eddie.
