Vivian Hacker Obituary

Vivian Hacker, age 91, of Kiel died following her battle with cancer on Sunday May 20, 2007 at Century Ridge in Chilton. She was born in the Town of Woodville on April 20, 1916, daughter of the late Walter Krueger & Clara (Raab) Krueger Bloy. She was a 1934 graduate of Kaukauna High School. On November 26, 1936 she was united in marriage to Glenn W. Hacker in Forest Junction. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1979. On December 28, 1982 she married Raymond C. Schreiber of Kiel who also preceded her in death on January 12, 1994. Vivian worked on the family farm in the Town of Brillion. She also managed the elementary school hot lunch program in Forest Junction and, later, the Brillion High School hot lunch program for a total of 24 years. She was always active in church activities, being a Sunday school teacher at Forest Junction Evangelical United Brethren Church for 30 years, a member of the United Methodist Women of Forest Junction and St. Peters United Church of Christ Women's Guild in Kiel. Vivian gave time and leadership to the Calumet County 4-H, serving on the County Leaders Council for four years, and as a leader for the Forest Junction Ever Ready Club for 26 years. She enjoyed creative cooking, gardening, quilting, traveling, studying and understanding the natural environment, and learning about different cultures. Vivian also enjoyed daily morning breakfasts with her friends at the Riverview as well as playing games with relatives and friends. She loved life to the fullest and still found space to listen for the spirit's call. Survivors include her children: Laurel (Gary) Vondrachek of Kiel, Dr. Roger R. (Esther) Hacker of Ontario, Canada, Byron G. (Judy) Hacker of Chilton, Leon J. (Susan) Hacker of Michigan; 10 grandchildren: Vicky (John) Hopp, Mary (Don) Middleton, Annette (Scott) Fryzel, Christine (Pat) Silvestro, Nathan G. (Karynne) Hacker, Jeffery B. (Melanie) Hacker, Marissa L. Hacker and special friend Scott, Amy (Caleb) Enter, Aaron (Crystal) Hacker, Andrew (Erica) Hacker; 21 great grandchildren; half brother and sister: Rev. Wilmer (Lee) Bloy of Sun Prairie, Audrey (Jerry) Elsner of Ashwaubenon; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Ross (Arlene) Hacker of Arizona, Arnold (Mary Ann) Enneper of New Holstein, & Arlene Krueger of Appleton. Vivian is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers: Melvin and Roy Krueger. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 23, 2007 at St. Peters UCC in Kiel with the Rev. Judine Duerwaechter officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Junction. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 23, 2007 when service will be held. Wieting Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
