Obituary
Vivian M. Heater, 68, of Canal Fulton, passed away peacefully, early Monday morning, April 17, 2023. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, February 14, 1955, a daughter to the late Donald and Vera (Gavin) Joslyn, Vivian graduated from Lake High School in Uniontown, Ohio, with the Class of 1973. At the heart of it all, Vivian was a gentle, Christian woman; a devoted wife and a loving and supportive mom, stepmom, grandma and great-grandma who placed her faith, her husband and her family at the center of her life. Her extended family grew to include her faith community at Canton Baptist Temple where she sang in the choir and took a very active role in church activities, helping wherever and whenever she could. Before retiring as a site coordinator for Meals on Wheels of Stark County and Northeast Ohio, her commitment to each of her clients was always professional, and at the same time, very personal. The work was often demanding and unpredictable, but it was where she wanted to be. In her leisure time she loved reading most of all. She also enjoyed traveling, and roller skating. In fact, she and her husband, John, met while roller skating.
Predeceased by her parents; her sister, Patricia Gault, and brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Joslyn; Vivian is survived by her husband, John R. Heater, of the home; children, Amy (Jason) McCracken, of North Canton, Donnie (Debbie) Swinehart, of Richville, and Jessica Wagoner, of Massillon; stepchildren, Cheryl Heater and Amy (Paul) Heitger, all of Brewster and Jason (Heather) Heater, of Canton. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ms. Irene Lane, of South Carolina.
A memorial service celebrating Vivian's life will be conducted at the noon hour, Thursday, April 27, 2023, in the Henninger Ministry Center of Canton Baptist Temple. Pastor Jake Tovissi will officiate. The family will receive condolences one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., in the center. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of Shriners Hospitals for Children at https://donate.lovetotherescue.org. Your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added to our on-line guestbook at www.atkinsonfeucht.com.

Delivering Meals on Wheels will not be the same without Vivian back at home base. She was always there to give support and advice. When it was your day to deliver you looked forward to seeing and talking to her. She obviously cared about her drivers as well as the clients getting the meals.

I know Vivian from Meals and Wheels. I am a summer driver and worked with Vivian for 3 summers. I always looked forward to catching up with her and she always kept me updated on what to expect on my route. She was very good at her job. I'm very sorry to learn of her passing. It was unexpected news for sure. God's blessing to her and her family as they lay her to rest next week.

I just started Meals on Wheels only a few weeks before she retired and in that short time I knew she
Was no nonsense yet very kind and patient. Only wish I would have gotten to know her better. She was even kind enough to call me to let me know she was retiring and to wish me well. May you all be blessed by your memories. God bless all!
