Mrs. Vivian Jones

A memorial service for Vivian Jones, 88, will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the club house at Summer's Landing, 651 Polo Road. In addition, a graveside service will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Rd., Rockville, MD 20853 Mrs. Jones passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012. She was born January 12, 1924 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Ira Kimber and Mable Louise Inkrote. Wife of the late, John G. Jones, she was employed for many years with the Department of the Navy as an illustrator. She was very artistic in many ways and loved painting so much that during her retirement she shared her talents with others by teaching art classes at the Sterling House. Vivian also enjoyed to travel and was lucky enough throughout her life to do so extensively. She was a member of Cabin John United Methodist Church in Cabin John, MD where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Suzanne Jones of Columbia and Jeffrey Kimber and Carol Jones of Manassas, VA; grandchildren Jeremy Jones, Michael Jones and Laura Jones; nephew Roger Yearick and niece Christine Meiser. She was predeceased by her sister, Ida Mae Yearick.
