Carey Hand Colonial Funeral HomeVivian Irene Heard Long of Orlando, Florida, passed away on November 23, 2025. She is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Vivian was born on December 15, 1933 in Dunlap, Tennessee.
She is preceded in Death by her Husband, James Long, Her son, Michael Long and her Parents, Velma Irene Lowry Heard, and Judson Davidson Heard. Her Brothers, Charles, Raymond, Carl, Harold and Kenneth Heard. Her Sisters Bobbie Blake and Sandra Leuty.
She is survived by her son, Ed Long of Orlando, and Daughter Kay Koger and husband Lee of Kissimmee Florida.
Her Sister Wanda Runyan of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and Brother Larry "Jake" Heard and Wife Nancy of Calhoun, Georgia.
Also seven Grandchildren, Christy Long, Josh Long, Craig Long, Kelli Dinkel, Kari Koger, Jamie Long and Christopher Sparks. As well as Eleven Great Grandchildren.
Vivian moved to Orlando in 1955 with her husband Jim and sons, Ed and Mike, and then had daughter Kay in 1959.
Vivian was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Daughter, Sister and Friend.
She helped care for her younger siblings growing up and cared for her dying Mother when she passed away in 1963.
She was involved as a Team Mom when her sons played Little League and never hesitated to sew the latest fashions for her daughter Kay. She was a wonderful cook, and will always be remembered by her sweet tea and cathead biscuits.
She loved her Church family and friends, and her fellow employees at Daniels Publishing and the Country Club of Orlando. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and giving spirit. She never met a stranger.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at 1:00 PM - Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, Florida 32817. With the Reverend Mark Koger Officiating. All are invited to attend.
Vivian is being cared for by Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida 32806.
