Vivian Lowery Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A. on Feb. 16, 2026.
Vivian Elizabeth Lowery entered this world on January 31, 1940, in Essex County, Virginia, born to Rose Ann Carter and Herbert Boston. On February 13, 2026 she was gently placed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She fought a good fight. She finished her course. She kept the faith.

She raised us to be strong, to know who we are, and-more importantly-Whose we are. We celebrate her today: a woman of unwavering strength, quiet courage, and boundless love. Tirelessly, she poured herself into our family. With dignity and determination, she transformed every role she held-from a Pantry Pride grocery store cashier to a devoted Early Childhood Education teacher-into a ministry of service, compassion, and excellence.

She is now reunited with her parents and the siblings who preceded her in death:

Titus Garnett Jr., Dorothy Hardin, Charles Garnett, and Geraldine Garnett,

as well as her beloved son, Herbert.

Vivian leaves behind five children who rise and call her blessed:

Vivian (Addison) Eaddy, William (Johnna) Lowery, Donna Sample-Allen, Rodney (Arnetta) Lowery, and Valerie (George) Boggs.

She is the proud grandmother of thirteen:

Antune (Tiffany) Wilcher, Shontay (Jon) Olson, Wendell Wilcher Jr., Junnell (Don) Daniels, Steven (Shantel) Lowery, Aaron Sample, Christine (Michael) Brown, Shawn Lowery-Smith, Kellee (Joel) Williams, Katrina (Brandon) Carroll, Zachary (Courtney) Carry, Olivia Lowery, and Benjamin Lowery.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren:

Aidan Howell, Sarah Brown, Joshua Brown, Caleb Brown, Alyssa Lowery, Mason Lowery, Amyalee Lowery, Caleb Wilcher, Ti'Shani Reid, Riley Brown, Michael Brown Jr., Marion Brown, Naomi Brown, Ethan Brown, Autumn Brown, Kelani Welcome, Kaidon Carroll, Lilianna Carroll, and John Curry.

She is preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace.

To us, she was our Marathon Mom-steadfast, enduring, and full of grace. As we honor her sunset, we stand in gratitude. We love you, Mom. You made us proud to be your children. God could not have given us better, because He gave us you.
